HISTORY

Knowledge for our customers
Plastics are our job and the material which has impressed us with its properties for more than 40 years. As a medium sized family company in the second generation, Lorenz combines tradition and knowledge with the joy of future-looking innovations. Thanks to the high quality of our products, the dedication of our employees and individual customer-oriented service we have become one of the most important manufacturers of SMC and MBC on the European market.

In 1966 Siegfried Lorenz founded the company in Bad Bramstedt, which specialised in the manufacture of various glass fibre products. At the new location in North Westphalian Hopsten-Schale Lorenz Kunststoff GmbH was founded in 1978. In the course of the further development of the company, Lorenz supplemented their portfolio with the production of SMC and BMC in the years that followed. In 1987, the success of the manufacture of SMC and BMC made it necessary to move to the factory at today's location in Wallenhorst near Osnabrück. Since 1996 Thomas Lorenz has continued to manage the business of his father Siegfried Lorenz. In 2004 Lorenz took over the area of moist polyester production from Südwest Chemie.

In the factory in Wallenhorst, 65 employees now work with a great deal of commitment in an area of 9000m² on the development and manufacture of plastics products for the global market. We don't just produce materials for the future: we also offer young people a professional perspective. In this way we train process engineers and mechatronic engineers in plastics and rubber technology.

Did you know that...

...SMC and BMC retain their strength even in external uses for decades and even in wind and weather? That is why these materials are used for control panels, emergency telephones, facing panels and in the garden.
